Accessibility statement for Stepless

A company selling accessibility work should be willing to be measured by the same standard. Here is ours, honestly.

Conformance

This site aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We believe it currently does, with the caveats below. We have not commissioned an independent audit, and we will not claim one we have not had.

How it is built

• No JavaScript. Every page, including the scanner, works with scripting disabled.
• No cookies and no third-party scripts, so nothing can degrade the page after it loads.
• Semantic HTML with a single main landmark, a skip link, and labelled form controls.
• Text colours tested against the background at Level AA in both light and dark schemes.
• Layout reflows to 320 px and text can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
• Pages are served without any restriction on pinch-to-zoom.

Known limitations

• Report pages can be long. Findings are grouped under headings so they can be navigated by heading, but there is no in-page table of contents yet.
• Code snippets in reports are quoted from your site and may themselves be poorly formed markup. They sit inside a scrollable region, which on a very narrow screen means horizontal scrolling within that block.
